Marcus attended ETHS and was a 4 time state qualifier winning Sectionals his Freshmen and Senior year. He held the #1 ranking in Boys 18s CDTA. He went on to play D1 at Northwestern University and was a freshmen teammate with Todd Martin (world rank #4 in 1999). After graduating NU, Marcus moved to Jackson Hole, WY and taught tennis at Teton Pines Country Club where he became Harrison Ford's private coach for 3 years. After moving back to Chicago in the late 90s, Marcus did corporate consulting work for a couple years before returning to the coaching ranks. He's currently entering his 14th year as ETHS' head boys coach.
